Thomaston Police Department School Resource Officer

The School Resource Officer (SRO) mentor students and conduct instructional classes in a variety of topics. Officers handle requests for service in the schools, including disturbances, arrests for criminal offenses, counseling and mediation sessions, parent-student conferences and community meetings. When possible, officers often resolve minor infractions without making an arrest. The SROs work in partnership with the school administration and develop other alternatives to correct delinquent behavior.
